Walk Thursday 23rd July

We are meeting at 10.30 in City Square, Leeds (opposite the entrance to the Queens Hotel for those who don’t know)
I'm thinking most people will come on the train so it’s a few minutes walk from the station.
The walk is only 2.5 miles but is slow as I will be stopping to talk about things!
The whole walk will take approximately 3hours including a break for lunch so a pack up is required if people don’t have a late breakfast!
It's all pavements so maybe comfortable walking shoes instead of boots but its up to you.

Here is the link for Karen's walk on Thursday 20th August.
Hopefully this will work, as I have heard that the one on the programme is not.
Thanks

Wakefield Walking Women's Network Guided Blue Plaque Walk of Wakefield - Thursday, 20th August 2026 - Wakefield Civic Society

There will now be a walk offered on a Monday
BUT it will not be pre-planned and will be arranged last minute … even as late as the Sunday prior to the Monday. If there is no one available or willing to lead, there might not be a walk! Generally the aim is for a 2 to 3 mile walk to help ladies stay fit and in touch, that, for whatever reason, aren’t able to make other walks. There will usually be a café/pub stop afterwards … but it will be up to the leader to decide what suits them.

As such, it will not be possible to pre advertise these Monday walks and details will be circulated on a WhatsApp group. You will have to a member of wwwn (with the usual try 3 walks before you join).
If you don’t do WhatsApp it will be up to you to contact the WWW WhatsApp administrators on the Sunday before the Monday to check where the walk is being held.  You will be able to do this by text only to minimise work for the administrators.
