All the reports are that the Hathersage Youth Hostel weekend went off brilliantly.  Fabulous weather, good walks in the idyllic peak countryside, great laughs and companionship together with excellent accommodation and meals provided by the hostel. Well done Margaret and Chrissie for organising one of this year's walking weekends.

Well what a fantastic walk on a glorious day - even though I do say so myself! Yes - me myself - the leader (Jayne) and 11 other fabulous specimens of womanhood walked the 9.5 miles up on 't' moors above Meltham yesterday.  Warm sunshine all day with fabulous views throughout.  We met up with Highland Cattle with a cute calf and later on a couple of Turkeys, (weird) although the geese that hissed at me on the reccy were thankfully missing.  It's an easy walk to follow as there are good waymarks and plenty of varied terrain.  We all arrived safely back at the car park in Meltham 5 hours later all red faced and sweaty minus many layers of fleeces! Roll on summer!
