"Sunday’s walk from Low Bradfield was one of those blissful, glorious, ‘good to be alive’ days. The sun was shining, birds were singing, lambs leaping and the scenery spectacular as the photos show. A great day ending with an ice cream back at the village – if only dinner was on the table when I got back! Hey ho you can’t have everything! Thanks for the day Margaret."
Jayne W sent this in, following Margaret's Low Bradfield walk on Sunday. "Sunday’s walk from Low Bradfield was one of those blissful, glorious, ‘good to be alive’ days. A great day ending with an ice cream back at the village – if only dinner was on the table when I got back! Hey ho you can’t have everything! Thanks for the day Margaret." Denise ran a very special Bluebell walk today; a lot of folk joined us for a lovely walk through some pleasant countryside and some gorgeous woodlands. The bluebells were out in full bloom everywhere and it was a sight to behold.
The walk was somewhere around the 6 mile mark, but I can't be certain because I forgot to turn of my MapMyWalk gismo until I got home so it recorded 38.43 for me! If you have any photographs of today's walk, let me have them so I can post them here? Well, Gillian did us all proud with a lovely walk around Wortley today. The sun came out for us and the weather was way better than the forecast, the styles were all manageable and in good condition, and we found a little wall to sit on for our picnic. Who could ask for more!
Akin to last week's walk, Pat got into her stride to see us safely through a meadow full of cows. The beauties seemed to grow bigger every time you glanced across at them. MapMyWalk measured our walk at 4.4 miles, but a Strada recorded 5.5 so ... roughly 4 between 5 miles today, if anyone's measuring. A sunny and warm walk with a lot of feel good factor - and a great butcher's shop at the end where the Steak and Stilton pies were to die for! |
