Eight brave souls turned out today (28th Dec) to walk from Anglers Country Park. We were all glad to be out and 'enjoyed' flooded fields, lots of mud, rain and sun. The weather was quite kind as we had lunch in the sun and we had a snowman to end .... etched in chocolate on the cappachino! Thank you all for coming ... and more next year .. next week at Stanley Ferry!
A very muddy walk but very enjoyable. Lots of paths I have never been on before. Nearly lost each other in the field of bio-fuel on the way back to Heath!
Thanks to Carole for leading and Pat and Keith for their hospitality and baking! We encountered all weathers on our Brockadale walk .As leader I began to wondered how many friends I had lost on the way in view of the muddy conditions in the afternoon but everyone was happy and smiling as we were welcomed by a warming log fire in The Shoulder of Mutton at the end.
I may have taken over the mantle of dear Pat Clay inunder estimating the distance and timing but nobody complained.🤞 - Joan |
