Parked in the pouring rain at Bingley station and tramped past the famous 5 rise locks and various snickets and ginnels around Micklethwaite, East Morton and Riddlesden. Had a rather damp lunch under a leaky tree at East Riddlesdon Hall before returning to Bingley along the canal. The autumn colours were stunning and what views we could see under the mist were probably good. At the end of the walk we all had tea and cake at a lovely canal café and of course by then it had stopped raining! Pats on the back to all six of us for persevering and not letting the rain get the better of us. Thanks go to the leaders. - Jayne W
Well who would have thought that 14 ladies would turn out, on what started as a very rainy day. The weather improved rapidly and we all enjoyed a lovely walk from Cawthorne, around Silkstone and Cannon Hall Country Park, ending with a coffee (or other beverage!!) at the Spencer Arms, under the cover of canvas.
Thanks to all for a great day! - Linda Margaret Scott led a lovely walk along Frogget edge. It was a lovely day and parking where we did enabled us to be at the edge, without walking up a hill! The way back was along another edge, with a slight detour due to someone (me) wanting to grab the trig point. Margaret had even laid on deer spotting as there was stags and doe's a distance away but close enough to see. The finale was a lovely NT tea room and a singsong in the car on the way home.
