Our walk today saw half of us head clockwise and the other half anti-clockwise from the Kaye Arms car park and measured 3.3 miles on my gismo. It was muddy but the air was fresh and helped me build up an appetite deserving of a Kaye Arms Xmas lunch!
Thank you Joy! You organised the two walks this morning and timed them to perfection, then you organised our Xmas lunch to perfection as well. It's hard catering en masse but The Kaye Arms did us proud today; the food was gorgeous, the service pleasant and friendly, and the company? Fabulous as always. I thought it was lovely to see so many of us all together again, including walkers fresh-faced from today's cold weather, and folk we haven't seen for a while for a variety of reasons too. You did a sterling job and we're all very grateful so thank you, and Merry Christmas! Our walk today saw half of us head clockwise and the other half anti-clockwise from the Kaye Arms car park and measured 3.3 miles on my gismo. It was muddy but the air was fresh and helped me build up an appetite deserving of a Kaye Arms Xmas lunch! Thanks to Elaine (top) and Jane (bottom) for their "Nature and Wildlife" photos!
Thank you Chris Trig :) for your walk report from Sunday's Heath walk;
"Thank you to Jeannette for a lovely walk around our local area and I still didn't always know were I was. Walked us past a trig point pillar - number 43/50 for me - which was a true bonus. Finishing in the Church of Kirkthingy for a fabulous Christmas tree festival. Our multi - talented leader had also made a few decorations for the tree she helped decorate. Coffee and cake was purchased and enjoyed. 12 out today although 1 took the photo and 1 was on the phone so missed the photo. Someone nearly missed the walk due to not being able to tell the time !!!!!" Thanks to Lesley for stepping in with a walk when Bronners was taken ill at short notice. Hope you're feeling bettter soon B. Thanks to Chris too, for the following walk write-up. After Wednesday's continuous rain who would have thought the 19 intrepid ladies who turned up for Thursday's walk would have such a glorious day. Starting off from the Garden Centre in Cannon Hall Park.and up to Deffer Wood we were ready for a quick stop just inside the wood. It was so hot that Pat broke the habit of a lifetime and disrobed to hearty cheers! The lunch stop in the Summerhouse was perfect with ladies allowed to sit in the shelter of the structure whilst the women had to make do with the wall! Why do thoughtless people spoil these lovely places?! Stiles as usual caused some fun and games but the sunshine made it a perfect day only outdone by the coffee and cake in the tea room. What? Pat? In December? **&%*$££$!!
