On the 13 October Margaret took us up on Froggett Edge and I distinctly remember conditions being exactly the same, funny that? But thanks anyway Margaret once again for leading the way..... it's all good fun innit!
So yesterday we had another wet n windy walk in the Derbyshire Dales. Why is it that as soon as we set off from sunny Yorkshire heading south on a Sunday walk the skies darken and the pitter patter of rain starts to drum against the windscreen. It's not what was forecast!! But eight plucky Walking Women Networkers started to climb high above Ladybower reservoir for a bracing 7 miler. The wind was at least force 10 on the tops and the sleety rain was sideways but the autumn colours were spectacular............. from what we could see peering through the gap in our tightly drawn waterproofs. Lunch was swiftly eaten at Fairholmes car park, standing up and shivering. But setting off for the last few miles back to the cars of course the rain stopped and as we travelled back 'oop north' to Wakey it was obvious that if we'd stayed at home we wouldn't have such damp socks!
