My 9 miler up and downer leading the ladies up to Lepton and back to Ravensthorpe seemed to go well. Lots of good views, woodland walking and plenty of kicking through the autumn leaves.

We introduced a new girl Rachel to the delights of WWWN and surprisingly she was still smiling when we got back! Hooray!
Cheers

The massive sum of 11 ladies joined Pauline on her walk starting at Fountains Abbey. (Yep 12 of us, a good backmarker must be able to count). A lovely route along the seven bridges walk that was. (Apparently not seven anymore). Over a hill, following a river to have lunch at the edge of Ripon. Then back through Studley Royal to see the deer. We saw three males with their antlers and further away was quite a few female deer. The route also took us past the oldest Cherry tree in the country and the ornate Church. A lovely route on a great day.

Three of us then had a short stroll within the grounds of Fountains Abbey as we had travelled too far not to.  - Chris

Thur 4th Nov - Three Villages. Gomersal, Drub and Birkenshaw

The walk today took in Gomersal,  Drub  and Birkenshaw. Approx 7mile.
12 walkers joined me on our ramble today. The walk took us through Gomersal, and up to the village Drub, where we had our morning break  taking in the lovely views. It was then over the fields, passing canary cottage. This was where canaries were bred for down the coal mine in Drub. That was the reality of days gone by.   Lunchtime was enjoyed in beautiful  sunshine.

The fields then led us back into Birkenshaw,  and into the grounds of Oakwell Hall where most of us enjoyed a welcome drink, and chat before we all made our way home.
A lovely day was had by all.   Jennifer
