Wet, wet, wet & wetter......it's the name of the new girl band........ seen them yet? Yesterday was a walk to test our steely determination to see it through to the end. 11 .5 miles pushing through 60mph winds and then relentless rain after the lunch stop. Much talk of Brandy, hot baths and steaming mugs of tea as we approached the end........but we'll all be back next week, thank you Dorothy.
Long distance Dorothy again - lousy day weatherwise unfortunately - so we were robbed of good views, but the strong wind and muddy fields made sure we got a good workout! Realised I'd never set boot in Shepley before so that was a first. Apparently well known for the quality of it's cloth in the 19th century so lots of references to this throughout the village. We peered through the gateway at Old Shepley Hall built in the 1600's before returning downhill to New Mill on an ancient packhorse route. Thanks Dorothy, perhaps do it again in summer?
