After that we followed the Ebor way. A route that I wasn't sure if I had done before until I recognised a "wee stop" and two lunch stops!!

Finally I could make a Thursday walk (School Easter Holiday's). On hearing that our leader had Covid, I offered to take over the leading rather than cancel the walk. 5 of us set off from Golden Acre Park in our coats, that soon got taken off as the day just got warmer and warmer. Following the book we walked along the Leeds Country Way for a bit, then in a different direction, then back on the Leeds Country way until we got to Emmerdale. Our new member Ann ( third walk today) was the only one who watched Emmerdale, so recognised a house of someone! After that we followed the Ebor way. A route that I wasn't sure if I had done before until I recognised a "wee stop" and two lunch stops!! Our lunch stop was with a lovely view of the valley and we were all quite close to having a siesta. The walk was finished with a lovely cup of tea/coffee/can of coke in the café. Ann was very pleased with the 9 miles - with no "ish" or any Swifty bonuses as this was the longest she had ever walked.
Hope you feel better soon Caroline. - Chris Four ladies joined me for an easy, gentle, 9ish miles stroll from St Aiden's. The 9ish was mentioned as we ended the walk as it was closer to 10. We followed "The Lines" for a bit, then the "Leeds Country Way" brought us to the diagonal opposite end of St Aiden's from the car.
Only three ladies came back with me as one had fancied the short cut back to St Aiden's that I had offered. - Chris |
