Irene's walk from Newmillerdam and Chevet today was through a range of lovely countrysides and in the warm weather we really enjoyed the shade of a few woodlands too. 23 of us walked, and most of us headed for tea and cakes to the Beauley Cafe at Newmillerdam, courtesy of Irene to celebrate her birthday. Thank you - delicious! A tiered lunch stop at the side of a country lane/track today. Thanks to the car and van drivers who slowed down as they came past. The others? Find the brake! And now for a couple of the Birthday Girl! And no, she's not 5! You need more fingers!
A select group of 9 enjoyed Jill's walk around the Ilkley, Nestfield and Upper Austby today. It was cool to start with but the weather warmed up as we progressed through some lovely countryside; riverside trails, country lanes, fields and woodlands. Our lunch spot - against a wall in the sunshine Not every day you come across this; shearing sheep. Bet they're really glad to be rid of their woolly coats in weather like this. It was fascinating to watch. Beautiful views across Digley Reservoir for Joy's walk ... Wow! This looks like hot work! A well-earned drinks stop And finally, as Chris says, even better drink stop at the pub
From Chris about Susan's walk around Knaresborough. "Lovely walk. Very hot. Some really nice shade in parts and fabulous sunshine. A fab turn out 21 of us"
