We set off on what ended up being a confusing walk. I had mislabelled it as the Skelmanthorpe circular, where as really all it was, was a circular walk from Skelmanthorpe. Note to walkers - never assume the leader is going the way you think she is.
My "Skelmanthorpe circular" took us up and down dale to Scout dyke dam in a circular motion. The weather was just perfect for walking, not too cool and not to hot. Taking in Gunthwaite Barn, which has an impressive history, brought to my attention after the walk.
Think we did just over 10 miles in the end, but there was no complaints. - Chris Swift
