Thank you to all 18 WWWN friends who cheerfully turned the challenge of the flooded river valley and change of route into a really enjoyable Winter walk.
We encountered the first signs of Spring in the snowdrops, catkins and hellebores.
We found the 9 highland cattle employed to graze the vegetation over the Winter enabling the wild flowers on the magnesian limestone ridge to flourish in due season. They were wearing their electronic collars to keep them in their controlled designated area.

We also learned about the measures to curb the spread of deadly Ash dieback disease from the Yorkshire Wildlife team ( 3 girls and 1 man!!) who were felling the affected trees in the woodland.
