The walk today took in Gomersal, Drub and Birkenshaw. Approx 7mile.
12 walkers joined me on our ramble today. The walk took us through Gomersal, and up to the village Drub, where we had our morning break taking in the lovely views. It was then over the fields, passing canary cottage. This was where canaries were bred for down the coal mine in Drub. That was the reality of days gone by. Lunchtime was enjoyed in beautiful sunshine.

The fields then led us back into Birkenshaw, and into the grounds of Oakwell Hall where most of us enjoyed a welcome drink, and chat before we all made our way home.
