Thursday 11th April - Silkstone Common

Judith led a cracking walk today.  18 of us walked from Silkstone Common in a loop through some beautiful countryside with great views.  Of course, good views usually means hills, and yes there were some.  We walked through fields, woodlands, parkland and a few pretty hamlets, stopping for a picnic lunch.  Judith had even pre-booked the sunshine! We were joined by two new girls, whom we hope will come out walking with us again soon.  The weather was cold to start off with but turned into a beautiful day where coats were consigned to rucksacks and lots of us walked in t-shirts and fleeces.

My gizzmo recorded 9.2 miles and the route is below if you're interested in seeing where we went or want to print off the map to do the walk.

Thanks Judith; I thought I was pushing myself at 8 miles and look what we did in the end!  Feeling pretty stretched now though; I think I'll sleep well tonight!
