"Thursday 27th August 2020 probably passed most people by because let's face it, what was new?
However there was a new development in the fact that the Wakefield Woman's Walking Network made its first tentative steps towards some sort of normality!
The rules to join the walk may have been different and the number of walkers may have been smaller but the fact is that 5 of us came together, not just as friends but as members of the group. We should have carried a banner but we were all too busy keeping our distance and sanitising our hands to think about that!
Gwenda, Jean, Jules and Faith joined with me for a super moorland walk in surprisingly good weather and returned unscathed!
The scenery on the moors and around the reservoir was as usual amazing and completely deserted until we returned to the reservoir. There was a surprising amount of rushing water which provided some challenging jumps and we were educated into the facts about fish ladders and wildlife.
The ladies who walked had made a great leap of faith to join this walk and I personally thank them for making it a success.
