Yesterday I sat bundled up under a duvet with my box of tissues close to hand, looking through the window at the gail force winds and the rain. I thought of the walk I was missing - and then at lunchtime (picnic time?!) the heaven's really opened and I could scarcely see the road from the lounge! My heart went out to the hardy walkers who braved Jill's outing yesterday.
Today I received this missive from Elaine (thank you E) with photos to prove there was even some blue sky at some point.
"Jill led 11 brave souls on a lovely walk around Golden Acre Park. It turned out to be good for the diet because when we stopped for lunch the heavens opened & we’ve never eaten soggy sandwiches as quickly!! We moved on very swiftly with no time for biscuits!
As soon as we set off again the sun came out, as it does, and we continued the walk in very pleasant sunshine. We all decided that we deserved a treat and so it was delicious cakes and scones all round in the cafe!!
A perfect end to an invigorating walk. Thank you Jill."
