Joan's walk from Kirk Smeaton on Thursday attracted quite a crowd! Jennifer sent this walk-talk in - a fitting tribute to what was, after all, Independence Day! "25 walkers turned up for a lovely walk led by Joan J. The walk was perfect for a hot day. We were mostly in and out of woods, passing streams, fields and meadows, full of wild flowers. The botanists among us were in their element naming the plants. Along the way , we came upon a field of Alpacas. They were gorgeous, even though they'd had a close shave. The last part of the walk, was through a hidden fairy kingdom. We've still all got the child in us, wonderful! Then all back to the Shoulder of Mutton in Kirk Smeaton, for a nice cool drink." Thank you Joan. It sounds wonderful and I'm sorry to miss yet another lovely walk with great mates. |
